When my husband and I decided we were ready to start trying to get pregnant I think we both figured we would be one of those couples who are successful the first time around. Yeah, that’s not really what happened for us… and a lot of women I know for that matter. In fact, it took us about three years of trying and even then we were told that we wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally since I was having hormonal issues and severe endometriosis. Here’s our story to getting pregnant.
After about the second year of trying to conceive on our own I started researching our options. After a couple meetings with infertility doctors in Orange County, one of which told me point blank the likelihood of me conceiving naturally was very slim since I had such bad endometriosis. This doctor was considered the “Father of Endiometriosis” and gave seminars to other doctors around the country. Who was I to question his opinion.
One of the doctors I went to recommended I see a Chinese Acupuncturist who she had sent her pregnant patients to help because she found those patients had a higher percentage of maintaining the pregnancy. Great, I thought it’s hard enough to get pregnant now I need to worry about keeping it as well?!
After I met with Dr. Daniel Lee, who is a third-generation Chinese Doctor, I was sold! He explained what was going on in my body in regards to the endiometriosis and what he recommended we do to clear it up (yes, clear it up) and increase my chances of getting pregnant naturally. I chose not to go the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) route because of my mother’s battle with ovarian cancer at the young age of 48. I figured my hormonal issues wouldn’t be helped by messing with them so I opted to try to get pregnant naturally. We were in the process of looking into adoption as well so we were keeping our options open.
After using Dr. Lee’s Chinese herbs, weekly acupuncture sessions and some diet changes, we found that I was pregnant in the third month of his treatment. I am not saying this is for everyone but I am so thankful that we had this option available to us! I understand the pain of not being able to get pregnant easily and wondering if we will ever hold that hoped-for-baby in our arms. So I was happy to hear about a new device that helps couples conceive naturally – with no office treatments, shots, prescriptions etc.!
What is Cervical Cap Insemination?
The technique of cervical cap insemination has been used as an effective, in-clinic treatment option for decades. It helps to prevent backflow of semen and allows for prolonged exposure of the sperm cells to the cervical mucus. It also enables sperm to bypass the vaginal environment which helps reduce sperm loss in the vaginal tract. They have found the Stork method has helped pregnancy success rates of up to 20% and is considered a less invasive method of aiding conception with a limited number of risks. (Source: StorkOTC.com).
You can learn more at the Stork OTC website and read about some of their success stories! I know how difficult it can be at times think it will ever happen for your family – but stay positive and keep checking out your options! Good luck lovely ladies!
